A total of €250,000 has been invested in three padel courts in River Leisure Club at the Castle Oaks House Hotel.
A spokesperson for the hotel said they decided to install padel courts because it is one of the fastest-growing sports globally, thanks to its accessibility, strong social element, and quick learning curve.
“Played on a smaller, enclosed court with simple rules and in doubles format, it is less physically demanding than traditional racquet sports like tennis while remaining highly engaging and fun for all ages and fitness levels.
“The decision to introduce padel courts at Castle Oaks Hotel was made to enhance the overall offering to the Limerick area,” said the spokesperson.
The response so far has been extremely positive, with courts filling up daily and strong interest from leisure club members, they say.
All courts are booked via the Playtomic app. Booking slots are 1 hour.
