What first sparked the idea for you to get into politics?
I felt my area was under represented and I was active in my community and when the opportunity came up I decided to put my name forward and was delighted when I was elected.
How would you describe what you do best?
In my opinion what I do best is listen to people and I have empathy and love to help people. Life can be tough so if I can make someone's life a little easier or put a smile on their face my day is made.
Is there anything you'd have done differently if you'd had your time again?
If I had my time over again I would have put my name forward sooner as more women are needed in politics.
What are the goals for the remainder of your year as priomh-chomhairleoir?
My goals are always the same: to do my best by Limerick and the people and help youths and the elderly in any way I can. As always communities are very important and the people of Limerick City East have been so good to me.
Do you have a personal motto you live by?
Don't sweat the small stuff!
