Laura Slattery shares her entrepreneurial secrets for International Women's Day

1. What first sparked the idea for your business?

I started the business over 30 years ago. At the time, I simply had a passion for the beauty industry and a strong desire to build something of my own. I wanted independence, creativity and the opportunity to create a space where women could feel confident and cared for.

The spark was passion — but the longevity has come from dedication and listening to our clients.

2. How would you describe what your business does best?

What we do best is combine results-driven treatments with genuine client care. Over the last 30 years, we’ve built a reputation for high standards, continuous training and investing in the best technology available. But just as importantly, we’ve built trust.

3. What advice would you tell yourself if you were starting over?

I would tell myself to trust the process and back my decisions. Building a business takes patience and resilience. There will always be challenges, but those challenges shape you as a leader.

I would also remind myself that you don’t have to do everything alone — building the right team is one of the most important investments you can make.

4. Where do you see the business heading next?

After 30 years in business, I still see huge opportunity for growth. The industry is evolving rapidly, and we are committed to evolving with it through continued investment in advanced skin treatments and education.

We’ve recently launched oncology aesthetics within our skin clinic, creating a safe and supportive space for clients who are going through or have gone through cancer treatment. We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but we’re even more excited about what’s ahead.

5. Do you have a personal motto you live by?

I’ve always believed ‘What’s for you won’t pass you by’.
