A love and passion for what I do, Orthodontics and a desire to produce a centre of excellence, working alongside skilled clinicians, learning, studying and developing ideas and ways in which we may best serve our local communities of Donegal Town and Letterkenny.
I come from a dental family. My father ran a community dental practice in Omagh for 40 years. In those days, he would turn our little kitchen into a Dark Room and develop the patient x-rays he had taken that day.
He was a perfectionist and would make his own orthodontic appliances. I learnt by watching and helping him where I could. My brother , Emmet, took over his practice when he retired.
2. How would you describe what your business does best?
A highly trained, multiskilled, collaborative team which strives to provide all dental needs under one roof. Patients rarely need to be referred to centres like Dublin, Galway or Belfast for dental specialist treatment.
We are blessed with our own specialists in Orthodontics, Root Canal Therapy, Implants, Oral surgery, Composite Bonding, Veneers, Airflow cleaning, Invisalign etc...
3. What advice would you tell yourself if you were starting over?
The journey ahead will be both rewarding and challenging . You'll make wonderful friendships through your patients and colleagues. Maintain professional education, health, fitness and energy levels. Keep learning!
4. Where do you see the business heading next?
We are about to open BLUE POPPY 3 in the Letterkenny Shopping Centre. We are making our Invisalign , Orthodontic and Cosmetic dental services more accessible to the community.
We are so excited about this new project. My team is incredibly innovative and experienced. I am excited for them and for the future of Blue Poppy Dentistry, Implants and Orthodontics.
5. Do you have a personal motto you live by?
In giving, we receive.
