A woman in her 80s has died following a single-car crash in Co Galway.
The woman was the driver and only person in the vehicle when the crash happened at around 8.15pm on Saturday.
An Garda Siochana said emergency services responded to the incident at Rooaun, near the village of Eyrecourt in the east of the county.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and her body was brought to Portiuncula Hospital, where a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.
Forensic investigations are also due to take place at the scene and gardai are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
