Man in his 50s in critical condition following early morning incident in Dublin

A man in his 50s is in a critical condition after an alleged assault at 8am on Saturday morning in Dublin, Gardai say.

In a statement, An Garda Siochana said a woman in her 30s has been arrested in connection with the incident and is being held at a station in the city.

Gardai say it happened on Lealand Road in Clondalkin and are appealing for anyone who was in the area between 7.30am and 8.30am, and who may have any information, to contact them.

A man is at James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown, where his condition is described as critical.
