Reflecting on the life changing moment, the Lotto millionaire admitted that it was a late-night scroll on the phone that led to the discovery of the win, with the entire family joining in the shock of the windfall.

They said: "I was watching television with my husband and there wasn’t a lot happening at one point during the programme, so I did the typical thing of scrolling through my phone. It was only then that I saw the email about a win, so I checked my account and immediately turned to my husband and sheepishly said ‘I think I’ve won the Lotto’.

She continued: "He definitely didn’t believe me so didn’t even look away from the television as he told me that I couldn’t have! When he finally realised I wasn’t joking, the two of us were totally in shock."

"It was around midnight at this point, and I even rang my mother to give her the news – I think the entire family were awake until around 3am in total disbelief!”

The lucky Louth player described their first purchase with the prize money and outlined what their plans are for the future following the huge win.

They stated: "The first thing I did was buy VIP tickets to Westlife! I am counting down the days until that one and then my next dream is a holiday home in Ireland. I still can’t believe this has happened, but I am so excited to celebrate with my family."

As for the Euromillions draw, anticipation builds around the luck Irish winner may be with more details to be revealed in the coming days.

Once the player makes contact with the National Lottery, arrangements will be made for them to collect their life-changing prize.
