The Brett Group is one of Irelands leading Animal feed compounders and grain merchants, handling 75,000 tonnes of harvested native grain and marketing 175,000 tonnes of animal feed throughout the Southeast.
We currently have an opening and are looking to recruit an experienced Logistics Supervisor to join the Operations Team. This is a busy and demanding full-time position working in one of Irelands leading agriculture production facilities based in Callan.
The Role
One of the main functions of this role will be to co-ordinate a transport delivery schedule to suit customer demands, working alongside the Mill Production Team to meet these demands in the most efficient way possible.
Be responsible for the distribution and delivery of the complete range of Brett Brothers products which will include Animal Feed, Fertiliser, Chemicals, Seeds, Grains, etc.
Work closely with the Mill Supervisor in organising production to match the delivery schedule.
Develop a full understanding of the different workstations within the mill environment to include intake, out loading, harvest intake and grain drying.
Provide cover and support for these workstations including managing holiday leave.
Offer support and participate in continuous improvement programmes including SMT and LEAN.
Participate in identifying non-conformances and implementing corrective actions as agreed.
Attend production and lean meetings and all other relevant meetings.
Develop an understanding and management of KPI’s in relation to all Business Operations for the mill.
The successful candidate for this role will report to the Operations Manager and will work closely with the Production, Hygiene, Maintenance & Quality Teams.
The Person
A minimum of 2 years work experience within a Logistics / Production environment.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise a busy work schedule.
An understanding of farming / agriculture would be a distinct advantage.
3rd Level Degree in Agriculture or related discipline is preferential.
Have experience working with Lean and KPI’s is advantageous.
