YouTuber KSI has said he is “so excited” to become a shareholder and strategic partner in Dagenham & Redbridge football club, and that he hopes to bring it back to the “glory days”.
Also known as Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, the social media star – who boasts 75.3 million followers across social platforms – outlined his ambitions for the club to reach the Premier League on Tuesday.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge said that he had been secretly watching Daggers games on YouTube streams “for months”, and plans to attend Saturday’s home encounter with league leaders Dorking Wanderers.
He said: “I’m so excited to start this journey
“It’s gonna be a rollercoaster for sure but I hope to bring Dagenham & Redbridge back to the glory days.”
Dagenham & Redbridge FC currently compete in the Enterprise National League South, the sixth tier of English football.
He continued: “Once we reach that point, I want to go even further. Reaching the Premier League would be a dream.
“I believe it is 100% doable. It will take a long time, so to the Daggers fans, please be patient.
“I want you to know that I am fully committed to making sure Dagenham & Redbridge is a team that everyone will know worldwide, and will be an exciting team to watch and support.”
The musician and boxer was announced as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent last year and has joined Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon for the 19th series.
He is also known for his song Holiday which reached number two on the UK singles charts as well as Not Over Yet with Tom Grennan which peaked at number four.
