Providing thoughtful, compassionate care

Emma Hall Phelan, L.Ac., is a clinical acupuncturist whose journey began long before her formal training.

Raised by her father, a dedicated acupuncturist, she has been immersed in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 30 years.

This early exposure shaped not only her understanding of health and healing, but also a deep respect for the body’s natural ability to restore balance.

She went on to study professionally at the Acupuncture Foundation Ireland, where she developed a strong clinical foundation in acupuncture, cupping, and moxibustion.

She is a registered member of the Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association (AFPA) and committed to maintaining high standards of professional practice.

Her approach combines her formal training with a lifetime of lived experience, allowing her to offer treatments that are both grounded in tradition and tailored to modern needs.

She firmly believes in the integration of Eastern and Western medicine. By bringing these two perspectives together, she aims to support each patient in a way that is both holistic and evidence-informed.

Her goal is simple: to provide thoughtful, compassionate care that helps restore balance, improve health, and support patients on their path to wellbeing.

Services

At AcuNua, each treatment is tailored to support the body’s natural ability to heal. Whether patients are looking to support women's health and wellbeing, recovering from injury, managing pain, or seeking deeper wellbeing, these therapies work individually or in combination to restore harmony and long-term health.

Acupuncture:

Acupuncture uses ultra-fine, sterile, single-use needles to stimulate specific points on the body, improving circulation, reducing pain, and regulating the nervous system. It’s a gentle, evidence-informed therapy that supports recovery, balance, and overall wellbeing.

Cupping:

Cupping uses gentle suction to release muscle tension, improve blood flow, and ease pain or stiffness. It’s especially effective for tight shoulders, back pain, and sports recovery, leaving the body feeling lighter and more mobile.

Moxibustion:

Moxibustion (moxa) uses warming herbal heat to nourish circulation and support the body’s healing response. It’s deeply soothing and ideal for chronic pain, digestive issues, fatigue, and conditions that benefit from warmth and improved flow.

Electro-Acupuncture:

Electro-acupuncture enhances traditional acupuncture by adding a mild electrical current between needles. This increases stimulation, reduces inflammation, and is particularly effective for sports injuries, nerve pain, and stubborn chronic conditions.

Auricular Acupuncture/Ear Seeds:

Auricular (ear) acupuncture focuses on points within the ear that correspond to the whole body. It’s a powerful tool for stress reduction, anxiety, sleep support, addiction protocols, and pain management.

Gua Sha:

Gua Sha is a gentle scraping technique that releases muscle tension, boosts circulation, and reduces inflammation. It’s excellent for neck and shoulder tightness, headaches, and facial rejuvenation when used with lighter techniques.
