A number of low pressure weather systems have formed over the Atlantic Ocean | PICTURE: WX CHARTS
An Irish weather expert has played down suggestions that Ireland is set to be impacted by another storm next week.
Commenting on social media, Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather said he has received 'lots of questions' about a number of low pressure weather systems currently over the Atlantic Ocean.
Having examined various weather charts and satellite images he said the systems are not unusual for this time of year and that he does not believe there is a need to be concerned.
However, he says there is a risk of strong winds over Ireland next weekend.
"(There is) a risk of some strong winds over Ireland around (February) 21st but nothing too significant showing at present," he wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
While playing down the concerns of his followers, Alan O'Reilly stressed that the outlook is "subject to change" and that the forecast will become clearer close to the time.

Meanwhile, in its forecast for next week, Met Éireann says it will remain unsettled towards the end of next week and into the weekend with spells of rain and breezy conditions at times.
While there might be some strong winds, the forecaster says it will remain "quite mild" for the time of year.
