Documentary to chart YouTuber KSI’s football club takeover

A new documentary will chart YouTuber KSI as he attempts to take Dagenham & Redbridge football club to the Premier League.

The social media star announced earlier this week he has become a shareholder and strategic partner in the east London club and hopes to bring it back to the “glory days”.

The documentary, Race To The Top, will debut on KSI’s YouTube channel, where he has more than 17 million subscribers, and will be promoted across his social platforms where he has a combined reach of 33.5 million.

Dagenham & Redbridge FC, known as the Daggers, currently compete in the Enterprise National League South, the sixth tier of English football.

The series will follow KSI as he navigates the pressures of steering the club into a new era, and will be produced by After Party Studios and directed by its founder, Ben Doyle.

KSI said: “This is a really big deal for me. It’s a full-circle moment – from dreaming about football online to actually taking over a club.

“Reuniting with Ben and After Party Studios makes it even more special.

“He’s captured every high and low, and I am so excited for him to board this rollercoaster of a journey at Dagenham & Redbridge with me.”

KSI, also known as Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, became a judge on Britain’s Got Talent last year, and said he had been watching Daggers games on YouTube “for months”.

Filming for the documentary is expected to take place when he attends Saturday’s home encounter with league leaders Dorking Wanderers.
