Limerick City and County Council are hosting several Biodiversity Week events, from the night-time talk and walk, Bats of Bruree, led by Bat Rehabilitation Ireland’s Susan Kerwin, an Awesome Pollinator workshop at the Sallybank/Corbally Wildflower Meadow along with other events targeted at specific project groups.

Sinead Mc Donnell, Limerick City and County Council’s Biodiversity Officer is urging people to support the events or “just get out and about in nature. Use your senses to explore, listen and immerse yourself with the nature on your doorstep.
“There is a wealth of biodiversity all around us, Biodiversity Week is a week to highlight nature and that as humans we are part of biodiversity and not separate from it.”

Limerick’s national Biodiversity Week Events are supported by the Heritage Council’s Local Authority Biodiversity Action Plan programme and through the NPWS’s Local Biodiversity Action Fund.
