LATEST: Gardaí issue update after driver fled scene of collision that killed woman in her 30s

Gardaí have issued an update on a three-car collision in County Limerick after a woman in her 30s was killed and the driver of the third vehicle fled the scene.

The collision occurred on the N24 near Grange West, Boher, Co. Limerick on Friday, February 13 at approximately 11:10pm.

The sole occupant of a car, a female driver, aged in her 30’s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

While the sole occupant of the second car, a male driver, aged in his 40s, was conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life threatening at this time.

Investigating Gardaí issued an appeal on Saturday morning "Seeking to identify the driver of the third car. That driver fled, leaving the vehicle they were driving at the scene."

The section of road was closed until Saturday evening for an extensive technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

A Garda spokesperson has now confirmed: "An Garda Síochána are following a definite line of inquiry."

They thanked the public for their assistance and confirmed "Investigations are ongoing. No further information is available at this time."
