Man dies following road crash in Co Westmeath

A man has died following a road crash in Co Westmeath.

Two cars were involved in the collision shortly before 2.15pm on the Royal Canal Way at Cushinstown, Killucan.

Gardai said that following the collision one of the drivers involved, a man in his 60s, became unwell and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them,” a spokesperson said.

“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dashcam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardai.”
