RIP: Man (30s)  killed following single-car collision in County Cork

Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a man, aged in his 30s, died following a single-car collision in County Cork.

The collision occurred on the Conna Road R628, Co. Cork sometime between Friday, December 19 and Saturday, December 20.

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a car in the water of the River Bride, close to the Conna Road R628, shortly before 10:00am on Saturday.

The male driver and sole occupant, (aged in his 30s), was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The male’s body was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

The road remains closed pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users, who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were traveling on the Conna Road R628 between 10:00pm on Friday 19th and 10:00am on Saturday 20th are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
