The rain warnings could lead to localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions
Met Éireann have issued a number of status orange and status yellow rain warnings for several counties over the weekend.
The status orange warning has been issued for Cork and Waterford and will be in effect from 8pm Saturday to 5am Sunday.
Met Éireann is warning of heavy rain and possible thundery downpours which impacts include possible river flooding especially in mountainous areas and very difficult travelling conditions.
The forecaster has announced that there will be a status yellow rain warning in place for Carlow, Kilkenny and Wexford from 8pm on Saturday to 8am on Sunday morning.

A status yellow rain warning was also issued for Cork, Kerry and Waterford which will be in effect from 5pm on Saturday evening until 5am on Sunday morning.
Met Éireann has advised that the public can expect spells of heavy rain with the possibility of a few thundery downpours from the status yellow rain warnings
They said that possible impacts include difficult travelling conditions and localised flooding.
