Tickets on sale now for Kilbeggan's Midlands National and Sustainable Style Ladies Day
The event is set to take place on Friday the 12th of July at Kilbeggan Racecourse
On Friday 12th July, Kilbeggan Racecourse hosts its biggest meeting of the year, with the Grade B Feature Race, The Kilmurray’s Homevalue Hardware Midlands National worth €100,000.
There have been multiple leading trainers in Kilbeggan’s Midlands National, over the years, with Gordon Elliott, Noel Meade, M F Morris and Philip Fenton each winning the race on two occasions. This year Elliott has 8 at the entry stage, headed by top rated Salvador Ziggy off 154. Other entries include Mayo National Winner, Duffle Coat and previous Midlands National Winner, Hurricane Georgie. Dermot McLoughlin who saddled the winner in 2020 is well represented here with improving course winners Mousey Brown and The Echo Boy. Local trainer Paul Flynn is hoping his mare, Paudie’s Passion, gets in off 125, after recently taking The Tote Connaught National in Roscommon.
The main sponsors on the day are Dermot & Conor Kilmurray of Kilmurray’s Homevalue Hardware Mullingar, who are sponsoring the €100,000 Midlands National.
Other race sponsors on the day are Writech of Mullingar, Kilbeggan Distillery, The European Breeders Fund and Larrigy’s Pub Kilbeggan. Many thanks to all our race sponsors.
TG4 and its crew will be welcomed to Kilbeggan Racecourse for the first time ever, to host their Rásaí BEO programme. The race meeting will be broadcast live on their channel throughout the day.
And finally, Kilbeggan Racecourse welcome all the wonderful ladies who will show up on the day to take part in The Sustainable Style Ladies Competition, with a prize worth €5,000 up for grabs (including a €2,000 cash prize). The judge on the day is the fabulous Sarah Jane Foster.
With bouncy castles, face painting, animal-shaped-balloons, ice-cream and candy floss for the younger audience and music in the Marquee provided by the brilliant Hammer & Tongs, there really is something for everyone at Kilbeggan Racecourse on Friday 12th July. Gates open 3pm. First race 5pm. All are welcome. Buy your tickets with cash or card at the turnstiles or visit www.kilbegganraces.com to purchase your tickets online.
We hope to see you all for an evening of exciting racing and good fun!
