€2m Dock Road development aims to tackle Limerick’s shortage of business space

Limerick-based company StorageWise has announced a major €2 million investment in a new purpose-built business storage campus on the Dock Road, introducing its latest concept: Biz Bays, flexible storage and workspace units designed to support the evolving needs of modern businesses.

The new campus represents the latest chapter in a family legacy that has supported businesses in Limerick for more than 110 years. According to StorageWise, the development responds directly to the growing pressure faced by companies struggling to find suitable storage, warehousing and operational space in the region.

“There is a severe shortage of warehousing and flexible business space in the Limerick area,” said David Hickey, Managing Director at StorageWise. “We see it constantly, local companies are ready to grow but simply cannot access the space they need, whether for storage, operations or light office use. More than 100 businesses already operate from our current Dock Road facility, which clearly demonstrates the level of demand.”

Biz Bays were developed to help address this gap in the market. Designed specifically for business use, the units offer secure and adaptable spaces with 24-hour access, enabling companies to scale their operations without relocating outside the city or committing to long-term leases that no longer reflect how many businesses operate today.

StorageWise also provides a managed delivery and collection service, allowing business customers to have goods delivered directly to their unit and handled on their behalf. This service offers additional convenience and operational support for companies managing stock, equipment and time-sensitive deliveries.

Businesses already using StorageWise include a local wine retailer storing additional stock during peak seasons, a national company using Biz Bays for merchandise storage, and a service engineer supporting a medical centre with secure equipment storage.

Located on the Dock Road, the new campus enables companies to keep their operations close to home while benefiting from modern facilities, strong security and flexible terms. Biz Bays are suitable for storing stock, equipment, tools, materials and documents, with spaces designed to adapt as business needs evolve.

“The development is about much more than storage,” Hickey added. “It’s about helping businesses in Limerick grow and operate more effectively continuing a tradition of supporting local enterprise that our family has maintained for over a century.”

Further details about Biz Bays will be announced closer to launch. Businesses interested in learning more or registering their interest are encouraged to get in touch.
