BASSE 2026 sets the pace for sustainable business growth in the South East

The South East’s next wave of business growth is underway with the launch of Phase Two of the Business Advantage and Sustainability South East programme, known as BASSE 2026.

The launch took place at GreenTechHQ, the region’s centre of expertise for business, innovation, sustainability and AI, and was attended by Micheál Martin TD, highlighting the programme’s national significance.

BASSE is an Enterprise Ireland funded accelerator designed specifically for scaling small and medium sized enterprises in the South East. Delivered by GreenTechHQ, it is the first programme in Ireland to combine commercial acceleration with sustainability as a core business driver, not an add-on.

The focus is clear: help ambitious SMEs grow revenue, strengthen leadership teams and create jobs, while embedding long term resilience through smarter energy use, lower emissions, fair work practices and strong governance.

Over the next three to five years, BASSE is projected to support the creation of more than 300 new jobs across the region, with participating companies expected to double revenues as a result of improved strategy, operational performance and leadership capability.

The programme is aimed at established businesses that have moved beyond start-up stage and are ready to scale. Participants receive hands-on support from experienced mentors and experts across commercial strategy, operations, sustainability planning and leadership development, all grounded in real-world business challenges.

Rather than approaching sustainability as a regulatory burden, BASSE positions it as a source of competitive advantage. By helping businesses reduce costs, manage risk and future-proof operations, the programme demonstrates that growth and responsibility can and should progress together.

Through BASSE, GreenTechHQ is reinforcing the South East’s reputation as a region that leads on practical, commercially grounded innovation. The programme supports enterprises across sectors including manufacturing, agri-food, technology and professional services, all with a shared ambition to scale sustainably.

Applications for upcoming BASSE cohorts will open shortly, with strong interest already emerging from across the region.
