Newmarket Motors is entering a new chapter with the arrival of XPENG, a next-generation electric vehicle brand that has quickly gained recognition across Europe and is now establishing a presence in Ireland.
As the first XPENG dealer outside Dublin, the North Cork dealership is introducing the brand’s flagship model, the G6 Coupé SUV, to local motorists. Fully electric and equipped with advanced driver-assist systems, the G6 combines sleek design with strong performance credentials.
It has also been shortlisted for Irish Car of the Year 2026, in association with Continental Tyres — a notable milestone in a year where electric vehicles make up the majority of contenders, reflecting Ireland’s accelerating shift toward sustainable transport.
Among this competitive field, the G6 stands out for its innovation, range, and value. Now available from €38,950, the G6 offers a compelling entry point into premium electric driving.
To mark the launch, Newmarket Motors will host an Electric Vehicles Information Night on Thursday, November 27th. The event will give attendees the opportunity to explore the G6 and other electric models, speak with the dealership team, and gain insights into the latest EV technologies.
Derek Reilly founder of Nevo.ie — Ireland’s only dedicated electric vehicle platform — will also be present to provide expert guidance for both new and experienced EV drivers. The evening promises a closer look at the innovations behind modern electric vehicles — and what they mean for drivers in Ireland.
XPENG joins an established lineup at Newmarket Motors, which includes Volkswagen passenger and commercial vehicles. The dealership has also recently expanded into the light commercial segment with the addition of Mercedes-Benz vans, including the Sprinter, Vito, and Citan — strengthening its support for local businesses and fleet operators.
Dealer Principal Annette Browne said the new partnerships reflect the dealership’s long-standing commitment to innovation and customer choice.
With a reputation built over decades and a focus on future-ready motoring, Newmarket Motors continues to evolve — offering a broader range of vehicles and technologies to meet the changing needs of Irish drivers.
