Man killed in crash between truck and van on M3

A man aged in his 40s has died in a crash between a truck and a van on the M3 in Co Meath.

The incident took place at Dunshaughlin shortly after 2am on Thursday.

The man who was driving the van was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was taken to Navan mortuary and a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

The coroner has been notified.

The driver of the truck was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown as a precaution.

The northbound lanes between junctions five and six have been closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
