With social media flooded with memes and commentary, it's clear viewers across the country have been glued to their screens from 9:30 pm.

With that in mind, here are some of the most unforgettable moments that had viewers laughing, gasping, and hitting rewind.

Shock familial ties and the iconic ‘Daddy’ slip-up

The Traitors Ireland has had fans on the edge of their seats since before the contestants even entered Slane Castle when it was revealed that Paudie and Andrew were father-son and neither knew the other was going to be there!

Andrew was “shell shocked” to see his dad there, with Paudie saying they didn’t know the other was there as “We’re both big liars, that’s why.”

The duo decided to keep their connection a secret from their fellow Traitors and Faithfuls, but it wasn’t long before the duo slipped up, creating one of the most iconic scenes of the entire series.

During a challenge to earn money for the prize pot, Andrew blurted out ‘Daddy’ when calling to his dad in what Paudie branded “a bit of a daddy moment.”

Despite Wilkin being within ear shot, the father-son got away with it, with Andrew remarking: “Thankfully nobody heard.”

While their castmates didn’t hear, viewers definitely did and aren’t letting him “get away” with it as it became the most meme’d moment of the season.

Paudie vs the Traitors and the downfall of Eamonn

Host Siobhan McSweeney had selected Traitors Paudie, Katelyn and Eamonn to work together to murder and scheme for the Faithful to banish one another.

However, by Episode three it was clear; the trio wanted to murder and banish each other.

The divide between the treacherous trio began when Paudie told son Andrew that Katelyn had proposed his name as a potential Traitor.

After Andrew confronted her about it, Katelyn brought Paudie's name to the roundtable proposing him for banishment.

Surving the roundtable, Katelyn and Eamon teamed up to try and get Paudie banished as they felt they would do better without him.

Tensions continued to grow until Episode five when shockingly, Eamon pulled Katelyn and Paudie for a Traitors only conversation in the middle of the castle as the Faithfuls were still there.

Eamon schemed with Katelyn to propose to Paudie that they will support him at the roundtable if he accuses Faithful Patrick, when they were planning a coup d’etat against him.

Unconvinced, this further divided the trio, and while they were not caught by having the Faithfuls, many fans of the show deem this moment to be the beginning of the downfall of Eamon.

Later at the roundtable Eamon tried to justify his actions regarding Paudie, but in the heat of the moment, he began to trip over his own story.

Nick, closely observing him, pressed again: was it Eamon who told Paudie? With no way out, Eamon was forced to confess to his lies.

Katelyn then brought up Paudie once again, for the fourth time!

Oyin, like an oracle, then questioned whether this roundtable was "a fight between Traitors."

Ultimately Eamon was banished, and the roundtable exploded with emotion, they had finally caught their first Traitor, and the country breathed a sigh of relief that it wasn’t Paudie!

Making it a family business – Paudie blackmails his own son

Following Katelyns banishment the night after Eamon, fan favourite Paudie was the last Traitor standing.

Siobhan left him with the choice to blackmail a Faithful to join him or be murdered after previously failing to seduce Nick.

Paudie chose to blackmail his son Andrew to join him in the conclave, making the duo the first ever pair of Traitors to be related.

The pairs reign however was short lived as Andrew was banished less then 24 hours after joining his father as a Traitor, with the Irish series getting yet another first, of Faithfuls successfully banishing a Traitor three nights in a row.

An ancient Piseog, hug of death and an Irish famine funeral

After Paudie once again tried to lure Nick into the conclave, this time by means of blackmail, the pair were tasked with murdering a Faithful in plain sight.

The duo were told in order to place the Piseog onto someone, they would have to give them a hug, to which Paudie objected “I’m not being smart here but I’m not a hugger.”

So, it was Nick who delivered the Piseog to an unknowing Christine who was “dying slowly” and would be “dead by the end of the mission.”

The mission saw all contestants follow a funeral procession, until just Faye, Christine and Ben remained. The trio were then laid out in coffins and the others were told to place a black rose on the person they believe has been murdered, with the group incorrectly guessing Ben.

It was then revealed that Christine was murdered as the lid of the coffin was placed over her.

‘A day of mourning’, mic drop, and the ultimate cliffhanger

The latest roundtable saw Paudie be banished with fans of the show declaring that they need “a day of mourning” as the much-loved Traitor left the castle.

Upon his departure Paudie not only revealed to the group that he was a Traitor, but also had his ‘mic drop’ moment when he revealed that Andrew is actually his son – a bigger bombshell to most!
