Woman killed in Monaghan crash

A woman has died following a crash involving a car and a lorry in Co Monaghan.

The crash happened along the N2 near Castleshane at around 2.45pm on Wednesday.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene and a post mortem is due to be arranged.

No other injuries were reported.

The road was closed for an examination by garda crash investigators and has since reopened.

Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

A spokesperson said: “Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 2.30pm and 2.50pm on Wednesday September 10 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardai.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Monaghan Garda Station on 047 77200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
