Three men have been arrested following a search operation involving more than 60 gardaí in North Cork.
Gardaí in Mallow and Charleville coordinated a search operation under a warrant on Wednesday, leading to the seizure of three firearms and ammunition.
The two shotguns and revolver "will be subject to further analysis by the Ballistics Section of the Garda Technical Bureau," a Garda spokesperson said.
A quantity of suspected Xanax tablets was also seized. These tablets will undergo further analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.
Three men, aged in their 60s, 30s and 20s, were arrested and detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
They are being held at a Garda station in the Southern Region.
