Woman who assaulted another woman denies posting about it on snapchat

A WOMAN who assaulted another woman has denied posting about the incident on Snapchat.
During a hearing, Tullamore district court was told that on August 18, 2022, a woman reported she had been assaulted by Natalie Hyland of 43, Church View, Tullamore, Offaly. This had followed a verbal altercation.
Ms Hyland, the court heard, had hit the injured party over the head and she had admitted the assault. The incident, which was captured on CCTV, showed Natalie Hyland hitting the injured party on the head and on the legs.
Judge Andrew Cody said he had a picture in front of him of someone on social media holding the summons which was served on Natalie Hyland and the words - "this is not over young girl".
Solicitor Donal Farrelly said Ms Hyland had not posted this.
Judge Cody asked her who had posted it as it was her summons.
Ms Hyland replied that she didn't know.
Who else would have put it up? asked Judge Cody.
Solicitor Donal Farrelly said Ms Hyland was extremely honest.
But Judge Cody said she was being dishonest and disingenuous adding that no one else could have put that up on snapchat.
Mr Farrelly said Ms Hyland didn't have a phone. He went on to say it was a very delicate case and Ms Hyland had been teased by the injured party who was older than her. Ms Hyland has since moved out of town to get a job, he said.
Judge Andrew Cody pointed out that he had served the book of evidence on another defendant earlier in the day for a similar offence. He said no doubt people have withdrawn cases due to posts such as these.
Mr Farrelly suggested to Judge Cody that he might adjourn the case for a week to allow him to discuss it with his client.
Judge Cody put the case back to a date in September and, in doing so, he told Ms Hyland to have €1,000 compensation with her on that day. '
'Get real'' he told her.
