In a viral video Fr McInerney says Bambie Thug is 'shoving their orientation in his face'

Irish artists and Eurovision hopeful Bambie Thug hits back after a priest sends hateful remarks their way.

Galway priest Fr Declan McInerney made remarks on the singer’s sexual orientation, addressing mass goers saying 'Ireland is finished' after Bambie Thug was chosen to represent Ireland at this year’s Eurovision in Malmo, Sweden with their song Doomsday Blue.

A video of Fr McInerney's sermon went viral after he hit out at Bambie Thug for 'shoving their orientation in his face.'

Speaking to the congregation at mass, Father McInerney said: "All I can say is we are finished. We are finished as a country. And before anyone jumps on their high horse and go, ‘he's giving out now about certain orientations.' I couldn't give two continental hoots what anybody is but I don't need it slammed in my face on the Late Late Show. Whatever hope RTE has of getting any one of us to pay a license has certainly now, for me, gone out the window. Be who you are, but you don't have to make a song and dance about it. Speaking of song and dance the poor divil Bambie Thug who we're sending over she can neither sing nor she can dance so we're finished from word go."

Bambie Thug reacted saying: "If were p***ing off the people who are stuck in an old mindset and not consciously involved then they were doing the right thing. So I feel good."
