Gardai 'identify' nine more people after public appeal over Dublin riots

Photographs of 'persons on interest' were released publicly as first anniversary approaches
Nine more people described as "persons of interest" by gardai investigating last year's Dublin riots have been identified following an unprecedented public appeal.
On Tuesday November 19, 99 photos of individuals were published on the garda website and members of the public were asked to content gardai if they recognised anyone.
In a fresh update this Wednesday afternoon, gardai said there has been a "very significant public response" to the appeal and that a nine of the images have now been removed from website, along with five images removed on Tuesday night.
"An Garda Síochána has this morning removed a further nine images from the public gallery, as these ‘persons of interest’ have now been identified. Five images were already removed" said a spokesperson.
The spokesperson added that gardai are not confirming the role of any of the individuals in the events of November 23, 2023. "It should not be presumed that identification means criminal involvement in these events," they stated.
Members of the public who can provide information or identify any of the remaining 85 ‘persons of interest’ are being encouraged to contact gardai.
"An Garda Síochána would encourage any person who identifies themselves as a ‘person of interest’ from the published images to make immediate contact with the garda investigation team at Store Street garda station," said the spokesperson.
The investigation team at Store Street garda station can be contacted by telephone at 01-6668000 or by email at [email protected].
Any member of the public can also provide confidential information to the Garda Investigation team by contacting the Garda Confidential Phone number 1800 666 111.
